Fiction of successful life: Concept of Welfare State

GM Sorwar Biswas: In establishing a welfare state, every legitimate citizen has equal importance from his place. No matter how insignificant or small the work. There is no time to underestimate the contribution of a coolie/ day laborer/ cobbler in a state.

Because a statesman is a servant of the people as well as a day laborer and a servant of the people. The criteria for eligibility may not be the same in both cases, but the services of both from their respective positions are very important for the state as they complement each other.

There are many factors to work for in establishing a welfare state. Food and clothing, housing, health, education, finance, law and order, justice, defense, trade and commerce, domestic and foreign policy, social responsibility are no less important.

In the present context we see the opposite picture. There is a considerable deficit in fulfilling the actual responsibilities from one’s place. We are all working in the country wherever we are.

There is no denying the contribution that a banker has made to the economy. By employing him as a front-runner in the global epidemic, he is keeping the country’s economy afloat, but instead of acknowledging his actions, some members of my country’s police force are harassing bankers on the dock on the pretext of lockdown. It is not desirable at all in an independent country. Where they were supposed to play all the helpful roles in going to the office.

While the government has decided to keep banks open in many sectors of the country to save the country’s economy, such behavior of police personnel is sad. We condemn it.
